Why Use A Gateway?

A gateway is very similar to a repeater but instead of using a separate receiver and transmitter that transmits the audio it receives, a gateway sends the audio it receives to other gateways and repeaters over the internet. A gateway will transmit audio it receives from the internet. This allows two people to talk with each other using gateways at different locations.
